Behind the Lens: Filming WPPI Speaker Promo Video in Las Vegas

In 2020, I had the incredible opportunity to serve as one of the official videographers for WPPI—one of the world’s leading photography and videography conferences. The experience was personal and professional: I was hired by Vanessa Joy, a trusted producer and colleague, to film a speaker promo video that captured the essence of the conference.

What the Project Involved

With all-access credentials, I was able to move freely throughout the conference, interviewing speakers, gathering b-roll, and capturing the full vibe of the event. I focused on:

• Speaker and attendee interviews

• Environment and experience shots

• Footage of networking, breakout sessions, and vendor halls

Once I wrapped filming, I delivered the footage to Vanessa, who produced and edited the final piece featured above.
