The Backbone of Production: Shouting Out the Hero Behind the Scenes

In every smooth production, there's always someone behind the curtain—making calls, carrying gear, wiping sweat (sometimes ours, sometimes theirs), keeping time, calming chaos, and somehow still managing to smile. These are the production assistants, the glue that holds our wild, beautiful, fast-paced industry together.

And today, I want to spotlight one in particular: Nathalia—my wife, my partner, and this week’s absolute MVP.

This week has been one of those weeks. You know the kind—where the schedule doesn’t breathe, gear doesn’t sleep, and food... well, food becomes a rumor. And yet through every hour, every run, every last-minute scramble, Nathalia has shown up not just with helping hands, but with grace, grit, and a quiet power that kept everything moving.

Whether she was helping set up lights, making sure cameras were locked in, helping manage client flow, or just being that steady calm when things got hectic—she made things possible. Not easier. Possible.

There were moments we barely had time to eat. Long stretches where “taking a break” wasn’t even a conversation. But she didn’t complain. Not once. Instead, she gave me that knowing look—the one that says, “I got you.” And she did.

She’s not just my wife. She’s a force.

To anyone who’s ever worked a live event, a film set, or even a tight shoot day, you know how vital production assistants are. But when that PA happens to be someone you love and admire? It hits different.

So today, I’m putting it in writing:
Nathalia, thank you. You helped carry this week on your back, and you did it with the kind of energy and grace that reminded me why I’m so lucky to have you—not just in my life, but in my work.

And to every PA out there: your work matters. You may not always get the spotlight, but nothing works without you.

Let’s hear it for the unsung heroes.
